DRAFT PICKS:
Areas of Strength:
If they re-sign Nick Young, the Wizards will have an intriguing backcourt developing, with Young, John Wall and Jordan Crawford, a steal from the Hawks. All three can score in a bunch.
Needs Work:
They were almost dead last in scoring. As one of the younger nucleuses in the league, what the Wizards need is time to mature and reduce their many mistakes. A big rebounder would be another plus.
Two Stats That Matter:
16.3 -- That's how many points Crawford averaged in his 26 games with the Wizards.
69 -- John Wall didn't play a full 82-game rookie schedule, and if his body turns out to be brittle, the Wizards are in trouble.
The Way To Go:
The Wizards probably won't find an NBA-ready player like Wall this time in the draft, but should draft high enough to snare a serviceable big man to help McGee.
